Suzuki Releases New 2013 Limited Edition Lineup
Since their American Suzuki Motors Corp. has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November of 2012, they are now going to focus their efforts toward Motorcycles first and foremost. To our surprise, we are seeing big changes in the company already! New additions to their base models were released at their annual dealer's business meeting at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. It is rumored to be their best lineup yet as it is highly anticipated being an anniversary year release.
The 2013 sportbike models will include the outstanding Hayabusa 1300. This year the Hayabusa line will be equipped with Brembo Monobloc front brake calipers. These calipers have been rated highly among riders and racers alike for their exquisite performance. Of course the terrificly exciting GSX-R line will have upgraded brake calipers and so much more!
The year 2013 marks the reach of over 1 million units produced from the GSX-R line. Suzuki is celebrating their absolutely monumental achievement with the release of a limited edition GSX-R1000 model with special features such as a custom finish and a commemorative badge. This badge will be located on the front forks which will indicate the limited production number of the unit. Many collectors have their eye on grabbing up one of these the first chance they get. This model will also be sold standard complete with a Yoshimura performance exhaust system already installed. Suzuki's goal was to express their special association of the two high performance brands in an exciting new way. Their limited edition model is limited to only 1,985 units worldwide to commemorate thier debut year of the GSX-R which was 1985.
This is no ordinary Yoshimura exhaust system, that would be too easy. The one carefully selected for this special edition is equipped with an EPA Noise Complaint Muffler which allows for it to be "street legal". Also included is the Yoshimura case savers and chassis protector that saves the bike if it is laid down and protects the bodys important components during an impact crash. Seems this model was extremely well thought out and is going to be a masterpiece in itself.
The design is taking a big step toward customization as well. The main colors of the design are a sleek mix of deep red and vivid high gloss midnight black. The kind of beautiful paint job that will leave you staring at yourself in it's reflection. The side fairings will feature a deep red bottom and black upper. A deep red Yoshimura symbol will be displayed on the black upper side fairing in the area where the GSX-R would normally be located. An upgraded rear seat cover option has also been described in recent reports. They say it will have more of a lift for a slightly better dynamic. In my opinion, it seems like the goal was a miniture hump like the Hayabusa motorcycles have. Either way it is a one-of-a-kind look that they will produce for such a short period of time. If you see one of these special edition Suzuki GSX-R 1000's on the road or at a show, just know that most people will probably never see one in person.
